A little experiment with a slightly pimped-up 12-bar blues. My apologies for the recording quality, sometimes I wish we'd had those modern digital devices these young kids have nowadays.

Yeah, those youngsters have it all don't they, old man! Why, when I was a teenager, calculators had only just been invented and they cost about as much as a starter guitar - now they give 'em away free in cereal packets!

Sounds very country/blues to me - the staccato-ish picking is more country than blues, though the scales are more blues than country. Even a touch jazzy to my ears - but I'm no expert. pretty cool, all the same, though!

:D :D :D

That is really great Sleutelbos.
Another thing that was different twenty-five years ago was the distinction between music types. Today, music types have crossed over so much it is difficult to classify styles. My only rule is, "If I enjoy it I listen".

I would say it's either a jazzy blues or bluesy jazz.

Seems very close to the line to me and I even hear that
country thing Vic spoke of.

Leonard Bernstein once said something like,

" There are only two types of music. Good and Bad"

This is Good

A bit on the jazzy side of the blues, but definitely still blues. I love it. Lay one down a bit longer and I'll definitely listen to it while reading or just kicking back. Good stuff!
