Well its my birthday today and I thought I'd record out where I am on this song. More practice me thinks! :D

Jack Johnson - Constellations
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=903342

I hope you like it.

WORDS
The light was leaving
In the west it was blue
The children's laughter sang
And skipping just like the stones they threw
Their voices echoed across the way
Its getting late

It was just another night
With a sunset
And a moonrise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars
Listen to papas translations
Of the stories across the sky
We drew our own constellations

The west winds often last too long
The wind may calm down
Nothing ever feels the same
Sheltered under the Kamani tree
Waiting for the passing rain
Clouds keep moving to uncover the scene
Stars above us chasing the day away
To find the stories that we sometimes need
Listen close enough
All else fades
Fades away

It was just another night
With a sunset
And a moonrise not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars
Listen to all the translations
Of the stories across the sky
We drew our own constellations

And would you believe I didn't use the acoustic for the song?! lol. Try playing those barre chords with my feeble hands.

Heres a link to my Astrophotos too, while on topic :D

It sounds great... a little too much reverb/echo.... I would love to hear you play it clear.

Nice looking axe, pretty creative with the moon on the octave.

Liked the song except for the line about children's laughter. That's just gross.

nice - i am assuming you didnt play and sing at the same time? if you did though then thats and even better job!!

what effects did you use on the guitar - i liked the sound?

"I like to play that guitar. I have to stare at it while I'm playing it because I'm not very good at playing it."
Noel Gallagher (who took the words right out of my mouth)

Cheers! I don't sing at the same time as I can't have two inputs on the little recorder. I can and do sing along to me playing this, but I doubt it'd be as good as the recording at the moment. The effects are a little much at the moment, my little BossBR defaults to far too much delay so I tend to just reduce that a little from 500ms to 200 or so. I also think I need to adjust my pickups so the treble strings area little lower, but its not something I've played around with as I don't feel I'm good enough to warrant that kind of fiddling yet (even if it is easy as pie lol).

I'm getting to the point now though that I dislike the 9's on my electric and prefer the acoustic sound, so I'll probably re-record it shortly. Thanks for listening!
