Hi everybody
I am Kalle and is an old member in GN.
I have been playing "electric" guitar in a jam band at work that play classic rock and pop songs. But suddenly the bass player moved to another band, and I took over the bassplayer role.
After two months of bass playing I did these "one-take" recordings to find out where I am..

Not perfect and simplified in some (many) places

Hi Kalle

No, they're not perfect, but you're making a great start! I'd never guess that you hadn't played bass before.

Hope you find being a bass player an exciting adventure. Besides being a lot of fun, you'll be amazed at how it can improve your guitar playing, not to mention being able to find your way around the neck of the guitar.

Looking forward to any progress reports you might post up.

Peace

Hi David
Thanks for your positive critic.
In a way the bass player role is much more fun than the rythm guitar role I hade before.
You have the opportunity to play (and show of) some "signature bass licks" that everybody recognise. And when you get the beat going together with the drummer its really fun.

It sounds pretty good to me, too. I love the bass. Great memories...

I have put up some more and newer recordings on the weblink https://app.box.com/s/numjmcc1x8vzjsgc3d7l

I am also bassplayer/bandleader in a jamgroup(rock) at work, playing the songs I have recorded.
I really like playing bass, especially songs with more complex bass "melodies".
