Sounds great...You obviously have a lot of talent! I would try to smooth things up a bit between the riffs, but getting that jimi "flow" is really hard.

Question for you though: I'm a huge hendrix fan, and Im starting to attempt (i mean butcher) his stuff. I got Purple Haze and its solo down, and I have the rythm on Hey Joe and Manic Depression down, but their solo's are really hard to get hendrix's phrasing and bends right... Any tips for where to go for or try next?

Thanks,

Dustin

I've been imitated so well I've heard people copy my mistakes.

That's amazing dude. Not amazing as in 'wow, how well performed' but more like in 'holy crap, that was superduper cool to hear!'. I've heared SO many covers of Little Wing, and this is one of the few that sounds good in it's own right, without relying on the fame of Jimi and Stevie. Drop me a line if you're ever going to perform in Holland, would gladly pay to see you play a bunch of songs. 8)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to pick my jaw up....

That is a great cover! You said that it was a video clip, but when I tried to play it, Windows media player said that it was an unrecognized file extension and it would only play the audio. Can anyone help?

thank you for the nice words :)

the playing was very rough... but the tone was what i was happy with. In all honesty i was just fannying around to try and test out my new video camera.

Arjen... i'd love to perform in Holland - i just need a band first!! gonna try and sort that problem out in the next couple of years. (once my kids are a wee bit older - at the moment they're 3mths, 2yrs and 6yrs...i've still got some time left...i'm 24!)

Hey BigAl, how long have you been playing BTW? I've been playing for about 7 1/4 months, 1 1/4 with lessons(with a teacher, not guitarnoise) but I can play purple haze through and through on my acoustic! I was real happy when I got it down. Now I just need a 4 track recorder and a mic and i'm a happy guy! :)

i've been playing for about 10 years - started playing on my 14th birthday. All self taught...by ear & tab books.
wish i'd gotten some lessons though - would love to be able to read proper music notation.

keep it up bro, hendrix will see you through. :)

And if you haven't, listen to SRV's version. It's incredible! Here's a live version, though it has vocals. The studio version is an instrumental.
