The Hey Hey Blues

This is just a standard 12-bar blues in C, hadn't done this in way too long so I did it now. Any comments very much appreciated.

arjen is good to have around even if there is not always guitar on tracks it gives me thoughts on where to go sometimes [dont answer that] if you listen to smoke train blues on hear here you will hear his piano work which started the whole thing off............smoke

And who says the hear here is only for guitar? It's for critiquing all aspects of a piece.

Very cool Arjen, very original too. I was expecting a cover of Hey, Hey (Clapton unplugged) and something totally different, I liked yours though, piano sounds great.

Great one. Especially the drums. Very cool 'stagger' to them. 8)

Cringe: Absolutely nothing whatsoever. You do bring up a good point and I had thought about it earlier but decided that I'd just continue posting non-guitar music until the Powers that Be ask me to knock it off. Maybe some people enjoy listening to it and those who do not are welcome to blatantly ignore me. :D

Trevor: thanks a lot for that! I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for me to get famous if I were you, but in case I do I hope you'll still like it. :)

Barry: thanks, and you're right. I quite enjoyed the piece I did with you but it was a bit beyong my abilities playing that fast and with both hands. So I wanted to do another blues, but slower and with a more classical feel to it. It's fun to see one thing leading to another.

Taso: hehe, that's why I called it like this. Just too good an opportunity to miss. :P Thanks for the kind words. :)

BB: Thanks. The drums are from Groove Agent again and were played at half-time, creates some nice awkwardness IMHO.

I like listening to your creations and not saying you should stop. I just thought I would bring it up since it is a guitar oriented site.

yes it is a guitar oriented site - the name "Guitarnoise" is a sort of clue.....but then again, it's a site for musicians, or would-be and wanna-be musicians.....so what if he's playing piano? All you have to ask yourself is, is it worth listening to? Answer is usually yes....and "Can I learn anything from this?" - well hell yes, you can learn a lot....from the melodies of his piano compositions, you can try playing along on guitar and improvising....

The lad likes to mess about with FX - he's good on piano - he writes some lovely melodies - all that doesn't mean he won't play guitar any more.....hell, he's only, what, 20?21?

Talent like Arjen has got should be encouraged.....I for one don't like like everything he does, but I love the fact he CAN do it....which makes him a MUSICIAN in my book.....

:D :D :D

He IS a guitar player too, by the way Cringe, he can certainly play circles around me, and I don't think I'm the only one on guitarnoise that would say that.

Arjen, I never know what to expect when you post something new. Like a few others, I was expecting some standard blues, but this surprised me and I like it.
