 Dylan I would love to hear your rendition of Knockin On Heaven's Door. It has GOT TO BE better than the Guns n Roses version...
I know you can do it!

What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's really all about?

Hi Stella

This one's for you..

I thought of breaking into Gun's n Roses half way through and it put me off my singing a bit half way through, but no - I kept my composure...A real virtual busking tune!

Now, it is different but hey, that's what music is all about isn't it? Being different?

Rock on!

I'm nowhere near Chicago. I've got six string, 8 fingers, two thumbs, it's dark 'cos I'm wearing sunglasses - Hit it!

 Wow Dylan, you can really sing!
I'm very pleasantly blown away - as in 'Blowin in the Wind' blown

Wow and the guitar playing is awesome too ... Has it really been 10 months - or make that ONLY ten months 8)
Seriously the Axel Rose rendition makes me just want to hang my head out the window and cry 'Heaven doesn't live here anymore - Go away!'

Today I got together with another guitar-playing mom ... at the beach 8) ... she brought her guitar and I brought the mandolin and we JAMMED 8) ... well, as much as could be expected with all the kids  And while people weren't throwing money at us, no one called for the bylaws officer to remove us either 8)

I thought it was my own
I could feel it in my heartbeat
I could feel it in my bones

Hi all virtual buskers...

Thought this has just as much place on this thread as the beginners video, so I'm posting it here as well.

I nearly broke into an Elvis impersonation half way through this....

Hope everyone is well?

 Wow Dylan, you're MY guitar hero :note2:

Seriously, can't believe how well you're trucking along at this point and to top it all off, you can sing too! Now you have no excuse not to spend every night serenading on the street corner (or your balcony or some other warm mediterranean location of which the rest of us just dream  )

Sorry, my camera is still on holidays  but I've actually been learning a couple of EASIER arrangements, which are easier to remember  and a whole lot more fun now that I can sorta play  .. sorta

Everyday People is just G-C-G the entire song and here's the stylin Pearl Jam version for inspiration:
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ezAteDYkYwg

And Ball and Chain, which is basic blues format - I picked Em for a starting key. Actually made it out for the local Roots&Blues festival last weekend and saw Big Brother and the Holding Company (re)do this one, so definitely inspired.
Next year I'm going to try to be IN the festival .... maybe as a volunteer selling t-shirts lol

Hi Stella and all virtual busking fans.

I reckon I'm going to have my skin stripped from my bones and hung out for the crows for this one, but hey - I've heard worse.... hang about, no, I don't think I have...

I'll await the candid views from the YouTube watchers with anticipation....

:D DYLAN!

.. Just listening to Wild Wood again and realized you posted the link to your other video back on the Beginner's thred - this is a lonely busker's corner isn't it? I can almost hear November's chilly wind howl lol ...

With two days before the US election, thought I would throw out my cover of Franklin's Tower. I became obsessed with the Robert Hunter acoustic solo rendition about two weeks ago .... Hunter was the lyricist on this and many other Grateful Dead songs and a first-rate performer in his own right - which I am NOT  - but it was the first time I'd listened to his CD since learning guitar, which gave me a whole new appreciation for the man.

Anyway, I've only been playing this a couple of weeks, most of the time spent either memorizing all 4 verses correctly and/or figuring how to make two chords sound like a real song  . This is my salute to our American neighbours and democracy in action 8)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRbGfM5ItKo

I want to add that I was very demoralized for a while by the rapid progress of my TEENAGER who has a whole year under his belt now and was able to take $650 of his OWN money and buy himself a new Ibanez electric with a very nice amp and is now playing Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath with something that sounds like RHYTHYM  I'm very proud, really  ... guess he figured that if MOM could do, it couldn't be THAT hard

Okay okay okay....I'm going to give Buskers Corner an exclusive.....not to be heard anywhere else on the board..... :? I've sure we can bring this thread kicking and howling (a bit like the November wind) back into existence.

I'm thinking that I'll post any new-found skills on Beginners, any cover tunes on Busker's and my own masterpieces on the main level - hmmm sounds like some sort of a plan...

Work seems to be getting in the way of making music recently, but I'll Be Back!

Don't you just hate kids - but if we looked at how easy they make every seem, we'd give up tomorrow - heck, probably give up this afternooon

Good luck on the voting - I understand the voting slip takes about a day to complete, so take the guitar along with you for some comfort - you may even make a few dollars along the way.

See you here soon.

Rock on!

Hey Dan

Firstly, welcome to Virtual Busking...the thread with legs!

Secondly - no way you're 15 years old. I would agree that some of us are mentally 15, but your voice sounds a bit too mature for such a tender age, and you shouldn't be singing sad songs either...

I couldn't get many of the lyrics in 'the saddest song I ever wrote', so how about posting them? Just to see how sad the song really is....
I rather liked 'Leave it all behind' and was really getting into 'I'll find a way' for 20 seconds, then it stopped - could be a marketing ploy or just a mechanical failure....

Anyways, welcome. Are all these originals - I don't know much about C&W so they could be covers?

Rock on!

Thanks Dylan - I'll be your biggest fan too, I promise

Dan - I have to agree with Dylan - you 15? That is impressive. No offense, but you sound even larger and hairier than my 16 yr old. I'll have to make him listen to your songs cuz he's too shy to sing or even think about singing.

Big thanks again to all who bravely sat through any of my videos - which is more than many family members have done  Now that work is pretty much wrapped up for the season, I will be back - to inflict your ears again  .

The saddest song I never wrote.... Hey, I like that one!

Thanks for the lyrics - I read them and digested them and I've come the conclusion that if you don't have either a) your horse, b) your dog c) your tortoise or any reference to what ever livestock you keep around the house dyin' then it aint the saddest song I've heard - but it still may be the saddest song 'he' wrote.... :D

Hi guys and gals

As promised, an exclusive not heard anywhere else on the guitarnoise.com forum board - thanks be to God I hear them cry!

I will be posting all my covers songs on the Virtual Buckskin thread - and we'll start with a Neil Young classic. I don't expect to get any virtual pennies in my virtual cap for this one. It highlights the problem I have - apart from no talent - yeh, ok, but still getting my fingers to remember where the chords and strings are and also remembering the lyrics and putting them both together - the result is a mess. I think it's that age old problem of a man getting his brain to do two things at the same time... :?

Anyways, less of the excuses and on with the show...
