Audacity ....grrr
I import my backing track so I can learn to play along with it ..All is good
I go to record myself playing along with the backing track ....
and I can't hear it ???
I have head phones on ..nothing un plug head phones nothing ..
So I don't bother with it I record a bit of music ..then I want to add vocals ..
I can't hear the music every time I hit the record button
What am I doing wrong ???

In the 'Audio I/O' tab of the preferteces there are two checkboxes at the bottom. The first one is whether or not to play back the other tracks when you record a new one. You just need to check this box and you're away.
The second, for reference, is whether or not to play the track that you're recording, as you're recording it (you'll want this one unchecked if you have any latency at all - it's very offputting to hear it out of synch :wink: ).
