I just recorded a file using my condensor mic. When I play it through the speakers of my laptop, tons of hiss. When I play it through my standard headphones, tons of hiss. Play it through my Samson NC900 almost no hiss at all unless I jack up the volume.
I guess I don't understand why the difference.

NC900 = Noise Canceling Headphones
I wonder if the noise canceling circuit is interpreting the hiss as noise?

Try recording with the treble rammed up to max and then turning it back to normal on playback; I found that worked on some of my older tape recordings

Sounds ok to me Joe, but then the speakers on my laptop aren't all that great. I can hear it just fine, no hissing.

Yeah the hiss is gone, but to me it sounds like I recorded this in a tunnel.
