What's a good USB microphone I can get? I don't want to spend $100 on a mic and another $150 or so on a 4-track recorder...anyway I can buy about a cheaper mic that can plug into my computer for recording?
My video camera's microphone isn't bad but it doesn't capture that beautiful tone from my Fender Blues Jr.
I'll start with the caveats that (a) I've not tried it myself, and (b) I've no idea of US prices, but..........
this might do the trick................ http://www.thomann.de/gb/blue_snowball.htm
I have tried their 8-ball, which I'm very pleased with and they seem a fairly good/reputable company.
There are a couple of others I've seen but not tried. Let me find my mag with them in and I'll post back with details (I think one might be by Rode, but I'm not sure).
the other one I'm finding is the Samson C01U for £47 (apparently reduced in turnkey from £70)
A USB mic is OK is you have the right software to get the most out of it.
I use Samson C01U, it is nice.
i'd stay away from the usb mics. A great mic that is cheap is the rode nt-1
