I just bought these so consider this an unofficial review. If this needs to be moved over to opinions please do. (Thanks mods).
At first listen, I wasn't all that impressed but these were brand spankin' new and have never had any significant signal passed through them yet. I'm still in the burning in process so they potentially could still have a little sweetening to go through.

I did run several hours of pink noise through them today and they have smoothened out quite a bit. I will continue to run the pink noise overnight for the next few days. Keep in mind that I will mainly be using these at relatively low volumes. I have the master volume at about 9 O'clock. Very low. Don't be fooled though. These little speakers a very loud! Surprisingly so. I couldn't turn these up without seriously getting on some neighbors nerves.

At the volumes I'm listening at, what surprised me is the detail. Incredible detail. (Listening to Al Di Meola: World Sinfonia. Dirca 1990) Things like the breathing of a Bandoneon between notes. I'm hearing shakers that I never new were there before and I've listened to this cd hours on end with headphones. Bass response is however compromised at lower volumes but not enough to make me worry. These monitors were just meant to be turned up a little louder.

I could say that this is an unofficial review but in all honesty, I'm just really excited about having them. they do sound so much better than the embarrassment of monitors I was using before. At $300 for the pair, I would have to spend three times as much to get anything significantly better. That I can't do. These will have to suffice but hey, I am not complaining.

I have good things about Rokit's. they are spendy and out of my range at the moment. I was shocked to read in a catalog how much one monitor costs....not just Rokits.
real monitors are great to have . I use Berhringers passive 2931Truths. not bad for lower end.

I did not know of a break in period. pink noise?

Well, I paid $300 for the pair. Not each. I think that's about the same as the Truths.

I love my KRKs, but they are not meant for every single recording projects. Once my brother was chatting with my uncle in Spain using my KRKs as speakers and when I entered the room, I though my uncle is in his room. They just sound real for vocals.
