Reposting to the correct sub-board.

Does anybody have an opinion on the low-end mixers? I'm looking for one to control the sound flow to and from my "stuff" (looper pedal, CD player, computer, amp, etc.) for practice use only for now. Though using it for some simple recording would be nice in the future.

Some examples are:

Behringer Xenyx 802

Peavey PV6 Mixer

If I did want to have the looper and some recorder (computer, digital recorder, or even tape) as possible destinations for the mix and switch between them how would you do that? Is that what is meant by "bus"? So, a 2 bus mixer has one set of stereo outputs? A 4 bus mixer has two sets of stereo outputs? (other than the speaker/headphone outputs)

Thanks

What they are referring to is it has a stereo mix output (bus #1) and an effect send (bus#2)
Each are a separate mix.

The effect bus can be used as intended (to send a mix out to effects boxes), or as an output to something else - I have used an effect send as a monitor mix in the past.

If you aren't using the effect bus to feed to some sort of effect, the the effect return could also be used as an extra "line" input, though maybe not in stereo.

I am using a Behringer UB802 mixer and find it very useful and us it for all my computer recording work.
The Xenyx is a later version of the UB mixer with better mic input amplifiers.
