I have a DJM600 pioneer mixer which is primarily used for turntables. I was wondering could i record music onto computer through this and get a good sound? How would i go about doing it?It has a range of effects which sound really cool when you hook it up to a guitar.

I would hook either the master output (RCA plug) or the Booth monitor master outputs (RCA) and the record output (RCA plug) to a Y cord that has two RCA jacks on one end and a stereo 1/8" jack on the other, and connect it to your sound card. Another option would be the 1/4 inch HeadPhone master outputs, you'll need a 1/4" jack to 1/8" jack cord for this one.

Being it looks like the Mixer is mono I would use two outs to connect stereo to your sound card.

Just a thought

Joe

Holy! That is one expensive mixer for what it does. I hope it sounds like gold. I just priced one up at near 1 G! You can get a decent mixer and pci interface and software to go along with it for that price.

Is this it?

Yes that is the one - its my brothers who uses it primarily for djing live but ive been hooking it up to my guitar recently and was wondering would it save me buying a behringer mixer (think thats what they are called). Just want to know what my options are guitar-wise for having it as part of recording equipment that hooks up to a PC.
Cheers
