Hello, I am new here and thought I would ask a quick question.
I am torn between two amps. A VOx AC30 and a Marshall BLuesBreaker. I can get a Blues breaker for around the same price as an AC30.I have played the AC30 and loved it. Really versatile amp, I was positive I was going to get it until I found a used BLuesBreaker on Craigslist. I have never played one, but young Clapton is my favorite guitarist, especially his Mayall and Cream days. So my question is if anyone has played a Bluesbreaker and can tell me if this amp can play some rock, blues and Jazz. (I play mostly these genres) I hope that Made sense.
I have a Gibson Les Paul standard BTW, and my favorite bands are
1) Cream
2) The Who
3) Led Zeppelin
4) Peter Green's FleetWood Mac
5) John Mayall with Eric CLapton.
ANy help would be great.
**EDIT
OOPS, I think I posted this in the wrong section. I'm sorry :(
Clapton has used so many different amps, that it is difficult to offer any advice on tone, because most of it originates from the player rather than the amp.
Although he used a Bluesbreaker, he used Marshalls, Fenders, Soldanos and many others. If you like the sound of a VOX AC30, my advice is to go for it.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

You should always try any gear you want before you buy. And if you like the sound of the Vox then my advice would be to go for it.
