I know this sounds outrageously optimistic. It is.

I'm looking for a way to record (it doesn't have to be on the computer, in fact I prefer it not to be) and I would like to record guitar, bass, vocals, drums and occasionally instruments like violin or piano/synth. This is very vague.

My friend has the Roland Micro BR. That little machine is almost perfect for me because it has drum loops built in, along with effects and a whole bunch of neat stuff. The only thing that has stopped me from rushing out and buying it is that the drum loops are all in 4/4 time.

Basically I'm looking for something similar to the Micro BR except with different time signatures. Or at least a suitable alternative. I'd really prefer drum loops as well because the room space is not ideal for recording drums.

I would really apprieciate it if you could all help me. I've been doing my homework on this but I can't find anything. Maybe the experts here can help.

Hey.

sounds like you want to separate things. a recorder and a drum machine.
I neat little recorded is a mini disc recorder. Sony makes them. I use the Sony stereo mike. it all is small and works great.
I upload to computer and burn CDs too. you could look on ebay and maybe find one. I have the Sony NetMD.

drum machines are pretty nice. I have a Boss Dr Rhythm. I can program every beat and time sig. although I usually use the presets.

you could download drum samples form the web too.

In what kind of setting do you plan to record?
