ok I just got a new microfone to hopefully hook up to my computer and record some of my music but my problem is that every time I hook up my mic to the computer, it doesn't work. If I hook it up to my amp, then it does. I am really, really confused right now have no idea what to do. If anybody knows how to hook a mic up to a computer then record music that way, PLZ let me know how to do it too. thnx.

It would help to know what mic you are using and what input you are putting it into on the computer. It may be as simple as enabling it in windows soundmixer.

Ok well the microfone is a Sony F-V100 and I'm trying to plug it into the mic. jack(the only reason I know what it is is because it has a picture of a microfone right above it) on the computer moniter.

Find the pic of the little speaker on your tool bar and double click it ...... Master volume should pop up

Click on options, then properties and select recording

make sure mic is checked and click OK

Now click the select box under the mic colum and adjust the level accordingly

Now things should work :)

Question 2: What program are you trying to record into?

Ditch wave studio and download Kristal Audio Engine. http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/
Also download asio4all. http://www.asio4all.com/

You'll get better funtionality, access to thousands of free and legal VST effects and you'll cut latency problems out of the picture.

Once you've gotten that far post again if you haven't figured out how to set it all up and someone will help you.
