If so, do you know if you can enter in tablature for an unknown chord and have Tux tell what that chord is?

I'm not familiar with it but this site is great about figuring out chords and vice versa.

Yes it can.
The chord editor tool does it

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head

I didn't remember that feature. Perhaps it is new, I think I used a beta version. I also saw it now can export to LilyPond!
