Hey folks,

I have been a hermit for a long while but hope everyone at GN is doing grand! Boy things sure look NICE here! New facelift? Honestly I thought the old site looked great. This is even better.

I wrote some tabs for this lesson and posted 3 free videos on youtube for private use and study. If you want to work on this blues masterpiece this teaches pretty close to the original method heard on the old record.

If you need more help building up to this level I have a "Blues in A Study" on my home page that can help. http://littlebrotherblues.com

DESCRIPTION

VIDEO 1 - Intro and lesson on main A riff for beginners up

VIDEO 2 - Goes into more detail and moves faster. Also shows as much how I play it as he does.

VIDEO 3 - I included FREE TABS for this video and walk through the tabs note by note.
free tabs go with this 3rd video http://littlebrotherblues.com/tabs/willow.tef

ALL MY VIDEOS

JUST THIS 3 part lesson

Hope some of you enjoy this and it motivates you to add another song to your work list. If you revisit this song after a while it seems to get much better. So if you hit a brick wall walk away and still practice what you learned. Eventually these licks begin to feel at home under your fingers but I had to revisit this song a number of times until I could hear and play some of the nuances. I'm still trying to get better. I just got reminded of this song again a few days ago and blew the dust off of it and made this little lesson.

Have fun... and this is not a performance. It's a lesson. videos are PT1, PT2 and PT3.... 10 minutes each.

Thanks,
LB

LB, you've been busy!

Folks, if you are into acoustic blues (mostly fingerstyle), Little Brother has some great lessons, well worth the price. And I do highly recommend the Blues in A lesson if you are an "advanced beginner." Check out the MP3s on his lessons page.

Oh hey Doug - any chance of posting some of your old, beginner-level videos to youtube? I'm thinking about Got My Mojo Working, the "Vaughan Brothers Style" lesson, etc. I know there were some issues with people distributing them improperly, or something like that, but they were really fun.

Best,
Mitch

Hi Mitch,

Unfortunately I don't have access to all of those old videos after a big website crash but if I can do something like that in the future I will. Thanks for the kind words.

I have 3 of them on my drive, LB: born on the bayou, mojo and susie q, all in wmv format. If you'd like them send me a PM with your email and I'll happily fire them off to you.
