I have recently bought a Peavey Ultra Plus.

It has 3 channels: Clean, Crunch and Overdrive.

Very bizarre problem; the Clean and Overdrive channels work fantastic. The Crunch channel does not seem to work, it plays the Overdrive channel whenever I have it selected. This is when I use the footswitch and do it manually.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Recently bought?
Did it do this since you bought it?

I'd say you have a warranty issue, talk to the seller... Oh wait, this is a mid-'90s amp, isn't it.

The problem is likely in the switching circuitry in the amp ( the block called "logic switch" on page 7 of the manual)

Here's the schematic if anyone has the time to look. A quick glance shows that the switching is done by an assortment of relays, so maybe one of the contacts has gone bad. Or maybe one of the front panel switches is sticking, or otherwise bad.
If I have time later, I'll look closer.

What experience do you have with electronic repair? Do you know how to solder?
Do you know someone who does?
