Does a Compressor go before or after a overdrive pedal?

Well, generally you put the compressor first, but i ike it in both places. its just a matter of which sounds best.
I agree with xkmangwingx. Then again experiment and try it both ways and then decide what works best for you. Mine goes something like this, and changes often. Analog effects, eq, compressor, expander, distortion, eq, AES (Acoustic Environment Simulator), level, eq, then off to the digital effects section.

Hmm, do I want fuzzed wah or wahed fuzz? Decisions, decisions . . .
There are some effects that really should go in a certain order http://www.robertkeeley.com/faq.php#Effect%20Order , but one "rule" would be that there are no rules.
If you come up with a sound you like, run with it. 8)
I run my compressor first.
tried it after the overdrive but prefer having it first.
it can go either way depending on what you hear and want.
however, there are some'rules as to pedal order.
generally tone shapers in front and time shifters at the end.
like Delay. I have that last.
and I put my volume pedal in front of the delay.
