I just bought a Alvarez Masters (Mf80c) which allows for a condenser mic and piezo pick up simultaneously, but I have to buy the condenser mic. The mic costs around 50 bucks. Is the mic worth it? Will it provide better options for shows in the future?

The condenser mic can give you a truer acoustic sound than a piezo pickup, but placement is critical and you can't move around. The piezo sounds "good enough" and gives you more freedom. Nothing says you can't blend the two, either. Over on Bob Brozman's web page he gives tips for miking a National resonator that are really good tips for how to mike any guitar.
