Topic starter

so i have: an old Randall RG-300 head with (2) 4ohm speaker outs.
A peavey 4x12 cab with a 16 ohm mono parallel out or 8 ohm stereo out options

so if i have my info correct, ideally i would run two 8 ohm cabs to equal 4ohms to match my head? is this true for stereo cabs? or can i run one 4ohm out from the head to stereo L and the other 4ohm out to stereo R within the same 4X12 and accomplish the same thing? please help me, i am soooo confused. i have read about 15 conflicting stances on impedance rules and i am going crazy!

thnx

Each stereo channel is 8 ohms, so they could be parallelled into one 4 ohm outlet and be properly matched.

BTW, your speaker cab must be 16 ohm SERIAL mono or 8 ohm stereo. if it's a parallel mono as you write, I would expect mono mode to be 4 ohms. (serial impedances add, parallels are reciprocal of sum of reciprocals).
