I am in the market for an inexpensive mic to use for my amp during live performances. My range is about $50 so I am currenlty looking at either the Shure SM-48 or the Digital Reference DR-GX1 (which I have never heard of). I relaize that 50 bucks doesn't get you much in the way of mics and would LOVE to get an SM58, but hey, that's the way it goes. Has anyone had experience with these mics or might recommend something else that would serve better?

SM57 is a fantastic amp mike. I got one on ebay for 55 dollars. new they cost a bit more.
you have to save up another forty and get the Shure mikes, SM57 etc in the ninety dollar range.
