loop pedal?

so, come to find out, something that would help me greatly is a "loop switch pedal". the only thing i can find of the sort is expensive rack equipment....and i was thinking that if no one knows of the sort....it wouldnt be THAT hard to make...would it? think of it like a a/b/y pedal, but with and input and output for each letter, there by making every switch its own loop, activating it like a normal stompbox, it would just direct the signal to the appropriate "loop".
