Yep, our drummer (who has been having personal and health related problems) :roll: is a good one. He can play along with acoustic instruments. He was trained in jazz band and marching band in high school so he was taught the correct way. He can play so soft you can barely here him yet still keeps time just fine.

Not much you can do in a lively small room when you have a loud drummer . Try and mix over the top of the cymbals if you can , obviously dont use overheads , believe me i deal with it every week and it sucks! :|

Another thing to do is talk with the venue owner about hanging carpet or cloth on the walls / ceiling near the stage or above it to eat up some the harsh frequencies
