Just heard about a guy travelling around carrying his 'portable recording studio' in his backpack. What's that all about? Wouldn't he need alot of batteries?
Apparently he could record at the ocean catching the sound of the waves behind his violin music.
I've tried recording waves and it's way too loud.
What kind of equipment is he using?
How portable can a 'studio' get?
cheers,

Portamento - The ability to move from a wrong note to the right one without anyone noticing the original mistake.
Harmonics - The buzzing sound that string instruments make.
Impromptu - A carefully worked out composition.

Myself, I do not own any recording equipment, so I couldn't say. You should visit the In the Studio forum, very knowledgeable folks there who can answer many questions about recording.

Check this out.
It runs off 12VDC, and records in 4 track onto a normal cassette tape (but at high quality) And for under $100, I'd take it to the beach to record.

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep
