Tube holder is rattling

I've recently noticed a rattling sound in my epi valve special tube amp. I opened it up and located the problem.

It seems that the spring tube holder isn't tight enough on the tube, giving it enough room to vibrate.

My first instinct was to put something inbetween the tube holder and the tube, but I fear of melting and/or burning.

Any suggestions?

Did you make sure to turn and lock it? I haven't looked inside my Epi Valve Jr in awhile but I am pretty sure that holder has two ribs that fit into notches. You turn the holder clockwise to tighten and secure it.

You could take a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull on the spring lengthening it.

Preamp tube covers twist on, power tube is just two springs pulling on a ring.

Stretch the spring. It tightens things up. It worked for me.
