Greetings all, I'm upgrading my nephews guitar and amp. His folks bought him a package deal guitar/amp combo a year ago and its pretty cheesy so its time to upgrade. Could you guys give me some ideas for a good amp for him. Under $200 and probably won't need more than 30W. I would like some effects also and maybe 2 channels. Thanks.

I really understand that money is money, and you want under $200.

But in the interest of versatility, value and permanency, here's a real tube amp that could last forever for 50 percent more.

And here's a link noting the Vox ADV15T which is also quite good, a very useful amp for practice and general playing and as a worthy upgrade or stepping stone? Oops, forget that, unless you find one of many used. They're sold out & discontinued.

But I have one of these, it's actually what I am using right now and it is okay, sturdy and sounds decent, fun and enjoyable as in motivating, and in the price range. It is waaaaaaay cheaper than just the effects that it has onboard. :D

Wow, pretty ironic, I had kinda decided on the Roland Cube 20X after posting before. Thanks for your input.
