Hi, my name is Kerry. Nice to be a member of such a great forum. I am 38 years old and purchased my 1st guitar and amp last Friday. I've never played before, but have always had the desire to learn. I've finally reached a point in my life where I'm able to commit myself to learning how to play. My guitar is a Fender Strat HSS (MIM) with a Roland Cube-30. So far I have learned a few chords and I'm trying to learn to transition from one to the other without screwing up. It hasn't been easy and the tips of my fingers are hating me. I know the calluses will come in time. I purchased Fender's "Getting Started on Electric Guitar with Keith Wyatt" on DVD and find it to be quite a good training resource in addition to this website and forum. So, enough chatter...Thanks for having me on board. I'm looking forward to more learning and playing.

Welcome to GN, kalfred.
We also have two great resources for your interest and curiosities. The Easy Songs Database may get you hot rodded into playing complete songs and there's a lesson section on the GN site, as well as the group of smarties here who love to show off their knowledge. I've been tapping it for years now.
OK, I know it doesn't show that well yet but it's not the sites fault. :D

Snow Camp is about 1 1/2 hours NorthEast of Charlotte. Right in the middle of nowhere. I actually work in Cary, NC which is near Raleigh.
