Hello!
My name's Callum, although Cally has been my nickname most of my life. I'm 17 & from Liverpool in England.
I've been playing guitar for around 6 or 7 months now, I have a Fender Squier Strat.
So far I've gotten familar with open chords, barre chords, major and minor triad inversions, quite a few scales & modes, soloing, how chords are constructed & substituted, transposing songs, and have started writing my own songs. I'm looking forward to learning about extended chords and more music theory. (I wish I payed attention in music class while I had the chance) :x
I discovered this site a few days ago & found the lessons really helpful! I've learned many new things already so thanks very much!
My favourite style of guitar playing is the blues & my favourite guitarist is Miyavi.
(He's japanese & has a very unusual playing style, check him out here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=com17gT0j4c & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ThoGOST-Gw ) Although a lot of his fans are silly and quite obsessed.
I'm also a big fan of Prince & Jimi Hendrix
Sorry for blabbing ... my friends say I talk to much - both online & offline!
Anyway, everyone seems really friendly here & I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys & girls :)
Welcome to GN, Cally, and might I say it sounds like you've made quite a lot of progress for playing only 6-7 months. Keep it up!
Regards,
Mike
