Hi.

I'm approaching my 50th and have decided to dust off the old gear to try and finally learn to play the guitar. I had a go about 10 years ago but didn't dedicate the time to progress very far so starting all over again. No great ambitions, just want to be able to grab some tab to songs I like and be able to play them reasonably in tune. A way of unwinding with a beer after a hard day at work!

Would be interested to chat particularly with other beginners going through the buzzy cords and rattly notes stage with me!

Dean

Welcome Dean,

Keep at it !! Make a habit of practicing regularly and it'll pay off I swear! :)

Hey Dean,

Looks like we're rowing in the same boat!

I'm 51, took up guitar when I retired from the Air Force at 41. Took lessons for about 3 months, but job/life took me away for the last 10 years.

I'm starting my 2nd full week back, getting about 2 hours of effective practice in daily.

My fingers hurt, my chords are buzzy, but I can see progress!

I'm using a combination of books: Hal Leonard and David Hamburgers Acoustic guitar method.

Cheers!
Steve
