Just wanted to say HOWDY!
I'm an older guitar player. I have a few guitar heroes.
1. Jimmy Page - I will argue that he's the greatest. Yes, better than Hendrix, definitely better than Clapton and all his contemporaries.
2. Mick Ronson - Come on, all those great Bowie songs, all Ronson. That Les Paul. My dream guitar. Oh, and his two magnificent solo albums Slaughter on Tenth Avenue and Play Don't Worry.
3. Mick Jones - (The Clash/BAD/Carbon Silicon) Excellent songwriter and all those great licks.
4. Johnny Thunders - Many think he sucks. He had limited riffs. But, damn he put them in the perfect spots. He was gloriously flamboyant, one of the greatest showman. Johnny's gonna die tonight. Many, many, many nights. No one can play his riffs or duplicate his sound. I saw him countless times, and he had a Marshall and guitar, and yet no one else can copy him (competently).
There are many other greats Iommi of Sabbath, Westerberg, but, those four are my heroes.
I LOVE the GUITAR. I have a nice collection. 57 or 59 Les Paul Special, Gibson Double Neck (exactly like Page) 2 Bond Electro glide, a Gittler, Fender Precision bass to name a few.
I'm not gonna lie I'm peanut butter & jealous of your collection! Congrats :)
in all it's forums.
see what I did there haha
