Hi Folks:
Discovered the site a couple of months ago and finally decided to join the group formally. I can't believe the wealth of information that is provided here and major thanks to all those involved. I bought a couple of books on theory which aren't half as informative as what is found here.
I used to play growing up in the '70's but sort of forgot about it for the past 10-12 years. Back in October my wife bought me a Gibson J-45 (lefthanded) for my 50th birthday (straight from the factory - you could smell the freshness of the wood) and I can't put it down. Actually I used the guitar to quit smoking cigars and now any time I have a craving I pick up the guitar and it goes away.
As for musical interests, I pretty well like it all from classical to blues to bluegrass to ragtime but particularly like music from the 1960's and 70's.
a warm welcome to the top site for guitarists

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.
