Last night I had the good fortune to perform at an Open Mic in Great Barrington Ma.
hosted by David Hodge and attended by visiting GN moderator Alan Green. In was a real pleasure
meeting Alan and getting to hear him play in person.
I only wish we had more time to get better acquainted but a good time was had by all.
Here is Alan doing Classical Gas.

"The only way I know that guarantees no mistakes is not to play and that's simply not an option". David Hodge
Nice playing!
:D
Alan, you look nothing like your avatar.
Great stuff!
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
Lovely version of Classical Gas. Don't know where you were playing, but it looked nice and cosy - a really intimate venue. Glad you all had a good time, and look forward to more pics/video.
:D :D :D

"Sometimes the beauty of music can help us all find strength to deal with all the curves life can throw us." (D. Hodge.)
We played at Crissey Farm, which is a banquet hall owned by a couple who also own the Barrington Brewery. One of the couple is also a student of mine from the Berkshire Community College - she's taken a group adult guitar class and is currently enrolled in this fall's songwriting workshop. This is the second open mic she's hosted and it is a wonderful venue for events of this nature.
Besides Alan, a number of students and friends got a chance to perform. Our own John ("the Celt") performed three of his original pieces, with Alan providing a Spanish guitar introduction to the first one. That was very impressive as Alan had never heard the song before!
Lot of fun had all around.
Peace
That was awesome! :note1: :note2:
Wow!
Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.
OK....... I'm totally jealous! Fabulous, Alan! :D

Well done, Alan !
Thank you everyone. We had a great time.
I haven't seen this video - we got back to the UK at lunchtime yesterday, threw ourselves in the shower and slept for a while, so I'm really looking forward to seeing it myself.

Oh, man that's so cool - there weren't that many fluffed notes either considering I hadn't played for a week before I got to David's.
If you follow the links to the other songs by RJ07songs, it includes David and our very own Nick doing Nick's song "One by One," which has to be one of the best songs to come out of Guitarnoise since I joined six years ago.

Yeah, I was watching several videos. Those jams seem very funny!
Higher quality but the same nice playing. :D
I think that particular performance of One By One ranks as one of my favorites. Glad it was recorded for posterity. You'd never know Helena (on bass) was playing it for the very first time.
Peace
Very nicely done Alan. I sense a lesson.
Thanks for the kind words, but One by One was a Torres/Hodge collaboration.
