An exceptional voice; a great talent wasted.

It is sad news, reminding us of Hendrix, Joplin and Jim Morrison and so many more. I liked Amy!!! inspite of her foibles.

She's joined Jimi, Janis, Jim, Brian Jones and Kurt Cobain in the "27 club."

Unlike so many of today's pre-packaged plastic pap-peddlers, she had a great voice and genuine talent. Not on my favourites list, but she'll be missed.

RIP Amy.

Yeah, she definitely made a lot of rock stars look wimpy. Can you imagine what her Biography would of been like? I believe I read that she was close to having a record come out. It would be cool if they release it and she wins a few more grammys. I thought Back to Black was great.

Ya, it is pretty sad... A GREAT talent that flamed out before she even got to start. Sad.

Even sadder that she did it to herself. What a waste.

sad it is indeed. what is worse is how the rock star industry creates such an intense atmosphere
that made it so difficult for her to clean up.

It's strange because many of my favourite artists have died, but before I was even aware of them most of the time. MJ died recently and I grew up listening to him, so was weird to find out he died. Amy Winehouse is very sad too. I remember George Harrison dying, that was fairly recent (2002, maybe??). I have yet to have someone I really really love right now die suddenly but if I had known him earlier, Elliott Smith died and he became a favourite but only after his death (not related) same with Jeff Buckley, if I had been aware of him and heard about him on the news the day he died I probably would have been heart broken. To me Buckley is probably greatest recent tragic and sad death because he was to me one of the most talented artists I had ever heard.
