Thanks all for best wishes..... news from my POV is encouraging, I can wiggle the finger whose tendon was severed without pain - in fact I've only taken two painkillers through the whole sorry saga....

Got next hospital appointment - Aug 15, have to see orthopaedic surgeon - so more news then.....

but thanks again, everyone, and as Arnie once said ...... I'll be back!

:D :D :D

Vic

PS Just had a quick look through thw SSG - keep writing, people - looks to be some good new songs there......all the best.....

Great News Vic,

I have no doubt that you will be playing guitar again.

I have had a brother,a daughter and,as you know,a
grandson who have all recovered from traumatic injuries.

The best advice I can give you is listen to your doctors
but also question them. The more you know the better
your recovery will go.

We are all pulling for you Vic

I sure wish you the best with it, too!

Y'know, though, Django Reinhart managed to struggle along fairly well without a full set of working fingers, and he didn't even have a slide, poor soul!

John

John is spot on on two counts.

Too many people take an illness with their heads in the sand going from doctor to doctor to specialist like a cork in the sea without doing any research on their own, asking questions and becoming the most informed person. The person most concerned about your health is YOU. Your doctor might have 300 patients or more, you only have one patient to be concerned about. When they say you can't. Tell them today I can't, tomorrow I will. Your state of mind will be your most powerful ally.

The second thing John is right about is that We are all pulling for you.

All the best,
Michael

Thanks again for the encouragement.....I am absolutely bored witless (well it rhymes with witless!) at the moment. Practising blues harp a lot, might just have to go and buy a large-bore slide, play lap-steel style.....

ah well, updates when I know more.....
