Thanks Electra, I had a story to go with mine but decided to see where the post went.

I had the good to fortune see Bo perform at The Empire State Plaza,Albany NY in the
summer of 2003. Great show and even though he was suffering from sciatica he gave
his all and even met with fans to sign autographs after the show. He was a true gentleman.

My wife had picked up a kitten;part of a litter that a guy had brought to The Plaza to take
advantage of the crowd. When it came her turn for the meet and greet Bo looked up and said

"Oh look a little Bo Kittley "

So how am I going to tell our Bo her Godfather has passed?

Goodbye Mr. McDaniel

Created what I can only imagine has to be the most copied guitar riff of all time. RIP.

I just saw this myself. This is truly the passing of a legend. Ellas Bates, aka Ellas McDaniel, named himself for a traditional African American instrument, the Diddley Bow, and helped created a distinctly American style of music.

It is a sad day.

In honor of Bo Diddley, here's a Youtube vid of a Diddley Bow! I didn't know that until you mentioned it, Tim, so I had to look it up. Very interesting!
