I saw Delaney & Bonnie when I was a pup......very good back then as I recall.

One of the more underrated musicians, but certainly well known and respected by other musicians. Delaney and Bonnie was a fun band. Eric Clapton has cited Delaney many times as a very important influence on him, especially around the Derek and the Dominos era (enough of an influence for Eric to take Delaney and Bonnie's musicians to form the Dominos!). Clapton credited him with encouraging him (Eric) to start singing and writing songs as opposed to just being a guitar player.

So did I! Several times! Definitely underrated, but I LOVED their music! Delaney and Bonnie had a daughter, Becca, who sounds just like her mother! It's amazing! Delaney will be greatly missed!

"Don't wanna ride no shootin' star. Just wanna play on the rhythm guitar." Emmylou Harris, "Rhythm Guitar" from "The Ballad of Sally Rose"
He influenced a lot of musicians ....wether they new it or not :D He was one of the most under rated song writers of all time.
