Getting a gig

Hi,

We are a 4 peice Rock covers band and have (slowly) been working up some material. Basically we want to do covers in a pub to start with mainly for experience.

Any suggestions on how to get that first covers gig in London? We dont need to be paid (but dont want to pay a deposit) we have loads of mates so confident that we can get at least a hundred along to the first gig.

Does anyone know of any likely place in London?

What would be a good set length 2 x 45mins?

Any help would be appreciated.
