I for one hope they bury Nutbush City Limits with him. It's a bit of a party favourite here in Aus, and it drives me nuts.

Regards,
Paul

Well, "they" say that there's a little bit of good in everyone, and he and Tina DID make some good music. So, RIP, Ike.

Very under-appreciated as a guitarist. It's sad that he is best known for someone else's side of the story about him. I learned alot by listening to him.

"First" or not, he was a real pioneer of rock and roll.

I couldn't read GN yesterday but I heard on the radio. They made a special program on his music.

RIP :(

How can "John Boy and Billy" do the "Axe Ike" bit now? :? :? I hope Tina is coping ... by now.

RIP, Ike.
'Rocket 88'!
I heard that my first year in college and it flipped my musical taste on its head.

I've been wondering about The Big Show and "Axe Ike." They already had to drop "The Crocodile Stalker." They've just introduced "The Redneck Whisperer." Maybe that's intended to take Ike's place.

On the tasteless humor side, I've read of one headline reporting Ike's passing: "Ike 'Beats' Tina to Death!"

A shame the man's considerable musical accomplishments have been largely forgotten, and overshadowed by the spousal abuse allegations.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine."

Maybe he did, maybe he did not. I don't approve or condone spousal abuse, but I personally can't stand Tina's music or her public personality.
