Just had first day. Am knackered from 8 horus playing followed by watching the football - come on Paraguay! Way to hold Italy, shame ya couldn't have battered them, tho.

Will report more when I get back and can upload some photos (and have a lil rest).. But the teaching is fantastic, and we have a great guitar tech who is setting up my guitar for me as part of the week's course, and even offered me his frankly gorgeous strat to loan for today's lesson. Gah, that strt is growng on me - way chunkier neck than mine so it felt weird at first, but as I got used to it, it feels soooooo comfy to play. And it's white nitro and really old looking, all scraped and aged to the point of poignant sweetness. Mmmmmmm.......... :P :P :P

Oh yeah, meant to add.... here's a link to more details of the course - http://www.andaluzjazz.com/cgi-bin/web.asp?title=*home

I'm pretty sure there's gonna be one next year, too, and I'm deffo gonna be going if there is! This place is so beautiful and it's the perfect place to practice, play, and then relax in. (Sorry David, but your crib gets my second vote for being inspirational in setting and hospitality!)

I'm glad you like Málaga. Practice, play and enjoy the Andalusian, Spanish hospitality.

When you get back (if you do it, it will be a pleasure for us if you definitely move here), if you flight from Madrid and you have some time, send me a message and I will go to say "hello".

Where is Madrid from Malaga, Nuno? I'll be honest, I haven't a clue how far that is, but if I can arrange it, I will. There's surely some train or something I could take between the two, giving me a day or two in Madrid (would love to see the city and get together for a jam).

This place is truly heaven. Awesome local guitar tech set up my Spear so it plays like a dream, I study with Mike all day, and then crash out in front of a small swimming pool on the mountainside and look out at the beautiful stunning views. Then it's dinner (divine cooking, btw) followed by the footie. How can life be this blissful? 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Probably it is 5 or 6 hours by train (at least the last time I was in Málaga). The best could be if you visit Madrid after you are in Málaga, so you do not have to return there. You can take the aircraft directly (but probably you already have the tickets from Málaga airport). You will need a half day.

Update. I checked the trains: two and a half hours from Málaga to Madrid. So, you could come early morning, visit the city (very quickly!) and get back at the last train.

I wont be able to do it this time around, but am planning more Malaga visits so I'll buzz you about that and hopefully we can sort something out - it'd be great to jam!

Or in the next Liverpool-Atlético de Madrid / Atlético de Madrid-Liverpool! Will we play again the next year?

Probably I will visit England in the next few months. We could also call to Vic for the jam session!

Enjoy your visit and learn as much as possible.

If you need anything from Spain, please, let me know! :D
