No, it's not a new band. UK-based noisers (correct collective noun?) can listen to BBC pop-science programme Infinite Monkey Cage's episode on music and sound here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0183tlt

(Mental note, The Infinite Monkey Cage Sound would be a great band name if the Beeb don't object.)

Actually, and a bit surprisingly, the link works here in Canada.
iplayer links don't usually work here. (though I have other methods to enjoy BBC programming, when I can't get it the official way)
