So, today I had the bright idea to cut down the half-dead maple tree in my front lawn.

The tree came down just fine, but as I was chopping the branches off, and stacking them in a nice little pile, I lost control of my axe, and buried it right in my left calf.

It hurts almost as bad as it sounds.

Anyway, I'm back from the hospital, with a felled, but only half-cut up maple tree in my front yard, my leg in a cast, and a follow-up appointment to see my orthopedic surgeon, 'cuase of course this wouldn't be any fun at all unless I managed to slice a tendon or two in half . . .

Well, just be thankful you don't play guitar with your legs. Seriously, hope it's nothing too bad and you make a full, quick recovery.

Sheesh, you should have called Fender to cut the maple for their necks.

Hope the pain was not excruciating. And that you have posted this, shows speedy signs of recovery.

Get Well Fast.

Oh, man!

I chopped one down once that started falling toward me instead of in the intended direction. Got out of the way just in time.

Hope you recover quickly!

Hope you recover quickly. As well as you play guitar, I'd have thought you knew how to wield an ax!

Seriously, get better and leave the tree chopping to professionals!

You after my title as "World's Most Accident-Prone Human Being?" As far as I'm concerned you can have it.....there was a time last year I'd have welcomed a leg injury or two - I always seem to damage my hands!.

If I remember rightly, you're no stranger to serious injuries - so you won't need any advice on the healing process and taking it easy etc.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.....

OUCH!! Hope you get better soon.

Did you walk into the ER with the ax still in place? Reminds me of when I worked in a hospital near the ER. One night I was watching TV in the ER waiting room and a guy walks in complaing of a headache. I looked up and he had an axe buried in his forehead!!

Ouch!!!

Hope you're fixed up soon.

In the mean time take it easy.
