Haven't seen any guitar shops during my two trips there, but most of my time was spent in the casinos. The buffets are great, although not as cheap as they used to be. I do have a couple recommendations for food.

#1 - Emeril's New Orleans Fish House in the MGM Grand. You'll probably need to make reservations and you'll spend at least $60 per person, but holy #$%# it's some good eatin'!

#2 - Dan Marino's Ribs (something like that) in the Hooters casino. We went to get some wings at Hooters and found this place. Some of the best ribs I've ever had and it's all you can eat.

KR2 - Vegas ain't as cheap as it used to be. The food and drinks are expensive now.

GOOD food and drinks are expensive. The $9.95 all-you-can-eat buffet and steak dinners still exist just off the strip --- not recommended for those who can taste their food or have poor health insurance coverage.

Ken's correct, shows are one of the best parts. I recommend Penn and Teller (teen rated), Blue Man Group (family), any Circ d' Soleil show, though Zoomanity is def adult fare in the LV raunchy cabaret tradition. 8)

Lots of night clubs, many of which seem to employ young women diligently working their way through UNLV.

I need a new tour guide.

I was there a few times in the late 80's and then again in the past two years, always for trade shows. So I missed the whole "Vegas is for Families" era in the 90s. It sure seemed less expensive in the 80s, even taking into account inflation - I had less money then too - and more fun with less glitter than now. Or maybe I've become jaded.

Here's how shallow I am. I'd land, take a taxi to a bike dealership and rent something nice and big and ride around the dessert until it's time to fly back. Maybe try to see how many snakes I can run over with a bike in one week.

Have a good trip db!
