Hi there!
I am Marilyn, who David so kindly let play at his gig this past weekend. I have been a member here quite a while, although I do not often stop by...as a matter of fact, this is where I met David....only to find out he lived over in the next mountain range from me...(I lived in the Catskills at the time).
Saturday was a lot of fun, and I wanted to thank David, Karen, Greg, Nick and Glen for being so kind to me....I really appreciate all the good times! You guys are the best!

peace,
marilyn

Hey Marilyn,

This is John we met at David's and I was talking to you at MGS when Kathy was there last.

It's good to here you are playing in front of an audience.

Yeah :D

You look like you're enjoying yourself in the video.

I'm still hoping to make it down to Card Lake one of these Thursdays
if life quits throwing me curve balls.

Hello!
Yes, I remember you....and I WAS enjoying myself....making music, especially making music with other people, is one of my very favorite things in the whole world!!

If you are coming to Card Lake (in West Stockbridge, MA), you had better make it this week, or set your sights for fall....after Thursday, Open Mic stops until September. Hope to see you!!!

I didn't realize how many people I knew here :)

peace,
marilyn

Hey Marilyn! Way to go! Great to see you on stage! 8) And David, I just about spewed beverage out my nose when I heard you yell
VIRGLE!!! Man it looks like a great time was had by all! Wish I were there!

Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.

Thank you kathy....

That 'Virgil' was thrown around quite a bit over the weekend.....I was there at your gig at MGS when it happened, but i thought it was really a cool touch, actually.....

But now they have another thing to talk about.
You know, Hallelujah is a long song.....It actually could have almost fit in the pause that Nick created at the end of Fire (You know...at the end, the music pauses)....I think that Greg threw a shaker at him to restart him, but even then it took a few ..
more ..
moments.....

:)

There is a slim possibility I'll be able to make it but my life is too
complicated right now. If not I'll be looking foward to the fall.

Congrats David, Nick, Greg and other participants.

A question : Do you display GN banner or poster or any sort of indication that 'we are from GN' at your gig ?

Thanks, Rahul

No, I don't usually use a Guitar Noise banner unless it's a Guitar Noise sponsored gig, like the mini-camps or the seminars are. I do carry around business cards with the Guitar Noise contact information so that if anyone is interested in things like that then all they have to do is come find us online. That does happen on occasion, especially at Kathy Reichert's gigs where the Sunday Songwriters Group often gets mentioned and then people ask about it afterwards.

Also, at something like this particular venue, there isn't a lot of room to start with, so having a banner isn't always practical. Personal contact and talking about the place usually works better. If we ever start playing stadiums, then it'll be a different story...

Peace

Really enjoyed the Sultans of Swing video. Its a great build up to Knopfler here in Vancouver on Thursday night. And I'm still looking forward to David's SoS lessons.

Cheers,

Fred.
