Is there any way to get it to automatically re-size to fit 800x600 resolution?

Thats really the thing that bugs me the most, and in fact to be honest has put me off. Its OK on my work machine cos that is a wide screen but my home machine isn't. Paul (H) is it possible to work on that issue ?

Paul

Paul, have you priced wide panel computer screens lately. They have really come down in price.

Currently my company is purchasing 22" wide screen flat panels for $300 USD that are CAD quality.

Might be a good time to upgrade the homestead.

Generally, I'm neutral on this change, as we tend to get used to everything, but constructively:

I will echo: The leftmost button below the posting text box should be Submit, not Save. It has become somewhat standard in UI to put the most likely choice there, and finding it to be the Save button for posting ops is getting annoying.

The use of a mostly monochrome color scheme looks cool, but does not give the eye much in the way of color cues to support easy location of various functions, areas and links.

I don't get to spend as much time as I used to on the forums lately so I was surprised to log on and see the change.

FWIW I quite like it. And as long as it keeps the spammers out it can only be a change for the better.

Great work guys.

Hey Paul,

Turns out I did get used to it, I don't mind it so much now, and I'm sure over time I'll grow to like it. Sorry for being so annoying :P

Y'all might have noticed that Paul tweaked the contrast between posts a bit :D

It does seem easier to read now. Way to go Paul! 8)

Thanks Paul! :D

We also have a good improvement in the text editor. Now when we select a font or format button or when we include a smile, they are inserted where the cursor is. The old system always added the tag to the end of the message.

Thanks Paul, a wasn't sure if I was just imagining the change, but much easier to read. Now, if it would just resize for 800x600 resolution...

I agree with Greg that the Submit button should be on the far left and the Save on the far right. Why? I've "submitted" 5+ posts only to find they have been saved. Nevertheless, great job Paul! :D You have the best guitar site in the world. How does that feel!!!

Mmm... I'm not sure. It's true I also pressed the 'Save' button a couple of times but I think it is in the correct position. I was reviewing several dialog windows in Mac OS X and always the default or first option button is on the right side. I don't remember where the buttons are in Gnome or KDE, two environments I use when I live in Linux, but I don't remember any trouble. I'll check it but I guess they are also on the right side.

Personally, I prefer the "Submit" button on the right. It feels more natural to me. In the old format, I would invariably hit "Preview" when I wanted to "Submit". So, for me at least, it's in the right ( correct :D ) position now! So, now all of you are dealing with what I've been dealing with for years!! :D
