A sad day, one of the true pioneers of modern day rock/metal. Such as awesome powerful voice coming from a small in stature guy. I watched a metal documentary awhile back & they did an extensive interview with him. A very down to earth, likable guy...
R.I.P.... :(

"The only way I know that guarantees no mistakes is not to play and that's simply not an option". David Hodge
I am truely saddened this morning. I remember the first time I heard him sing. Black Sabbath were on TV and they performed Neon Nights, a song from their new album. I was in awe. Ozzy who? R.I.P. Ronnie James.

It´s always sad when someone loses out to cancer, and although I´ve never been a huge fan of Ronnie James Dio myself, I do have respect for all the work his done over the years with various groups and constellations - so - R.I.P.

I'm sad and sorry too. When the artist has left us and the body of work, or the voice goes on as a legacy, I always get a little choked. R.I.P.
Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Dang! That just bites. R.I.P. Ronnie.

"I wonder if a composer ever intentionally composed a piece that was physically impossible to play and stuck it away to be found years later after his death, knowing it would forever drive perfectionist musicians crazy." - George Carlin
Dang! That just bites. R.I.P. Ronnie.
You said it Roy

Gather the wind
Though the wind won't help you fly at all
Your back's to the wall
Then chain the sun
And then it turns around and face you
As you run, you run, you run!
Behind a smile
There's danger and a promise to be told
You'll never get old
Life's fantasy
To be locked away and still to think you're free
You're free
You're free!
So live for today
Tomorrow never comes
Die young, die young
Can't you see the writing in the air?
Die young, gonna die young
Someone stopped the fair
Gather the wind
Though the wind won't help you fly at all
Your back's to the wall
Then chain the sun
And then it turns around and face you
As you run, you run, you run!
So live for today
Tomorrow never comes
Die young, young
Die young, die young
Die young, die young, young
