Very funny, Arjen . . . now don't ever do that again . . . please.
And why B flat? Is that the maximum annoying frequency or what?
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Don't worry KR, you aint the only one who hates them:

I think it was JWMartin who said the vuvuzelas have a frequency of 466 Hz
I was curious as to the annoying frequency of a mosquito's buzz.
It turns out the male and female buzz at different frequencies . . .
"They found that females on their own whine at a frequency of 400 Hertz.
Whereas single males buzz at about 600.
But when the two come together, they perform a duet in which the beat of their wings reaches a frantic 1200 hertz."
I guess that would be a crescendo . . . or climax.

You yankees still drunk or did none of you watch your Houdini-esque escape? :P Congrats!
I watched the the last 3/4 of the game.
I feel good for the players.
Don't understand the reluctance of FIFA to use the technology available to overturn an official's call (instant video playback).
If the technology is there, it seems a shame not to take advantage of it.
It seems unfair to both teams . . .
and the millions of people watching the game . . .
to rely upon just one person's judgment call . . .
especially when just one goal is so critical in a low scoring games such as soccer.
Congrats, Arjen.

Urg, nobody knows why FIFA is the way it is. Sepp Blatter once stated that "errors made by the ref are part of the charm of football." but he seems to be the only one with that opinion. It was particularly tragic at the world cup in Asia, where huge in-stadium screens were showing slowmotion images of what just happened but the refs were forbidden to look at them.
Ah well, we just won 2-1 so we're through with nine points out of three. If US wins the next two matches we'll see you in the semi-final. 8)
I had to work during the game, so I stayed away from any news web sites while @ work. Came home & watched the whole reply on ESPN2. Just about died when we were robbed again by a blind ref! Very happy we got the win at the end. :D
"The only way I know that guarantees no mistakes is not to play and that's simply not an option". David Hodge
Who really cares here in the US......yuppie kids?....It's only friggin' soccer.
It was on here at 9am on a Wednesday, so I was at work. I had espn.com open and was following the play by play. It was very quiet in my office then I yelled out "YES!" and started clapping. I'm sure everyone was wondering what was going on :D

Gee, KR2, that was really interesting.
What else can you tell us about mosquito buzz?
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Well, if you convert frequency to notes . . .
the male mosquito buzzes at about G4 and the female buzzes at about D5.

Go Team America!!!!!!!! GO!!!!!!!!
cough cough
If the US had played the first half like they did the 2nd, we might still be in it.
