This is an acoustic only jam. you can use any acoustic instrument you like-banjo, mandolin, fiddle, didgeridoos, and guitar( of course)
you can record more than one track in your slot( 2-3 instuments if you want to get crazy with it) or just one. any style you would think fits here.
this is a track i made with a drum machine, bass and two guitars in open G tuning. the break down is as follows
#1, 0-49-moedecker
#2' 49-133-hueseph
#3, 133-217-teleplayer
#4, 217-300-yoyo

Its in G 8) Thanks :D :D
This is probably the wrong spot to ask this question, but how does it matter if its in G or in A? Is it the scale, or is it the harmony, or what? And when you jam, do you just play in one scale, or can you mix some of them? (I did probably embarrass myself right now... )
I'm the wrong guy to ask about theory LOL, If the band is playing in G, and you play in A it will sound off key ( because it is  )You can mix major, minor, and other scales( in some cases) as long as they are in the same key. But again, I'm the wrong guy ta ask about theory, heck i've played since 1970 and didn't learn any scales till about 1999  ( I knew them, and used them , but did not know what they were called). I just play , and if it sounds right, thats ok with me  --the dog
Here's the thing. If you're playing in A, you end up playing with more sharps than the song calls for. This creates a lot of harmony problems.
For G, it's easiest to stay in G or Emin, depending on what sound you're looking for.
Our songs also have the standard pop format: Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, bad solo. All in all, I think we sound like The Knack and the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.

Or C, that works for me too...

That works as long as you dont hit F (if you make it F sharp it becomes G).
There are other variations, but for me it was easiest to stick with the major and minor that corrisponded. The other variations came later. YMMV though.
