I thought we might do something a bit different this time. I found a most excellent backing track. Its in Cm. Think Led Zeppelin --"Since I've been loving you" :note2: :note1:
Here is a link to the backing track: http://www.box.net/shared/5dfck24s7s

Just download and invite two guitar players to join in with you and post your team on this thread. I will make a thread over at Hear Here for the teams to post finished jams.

No time line. you may post your jams as soon as you finish them.
Should be 3 players in each team...but one, two or four players are fine also.
I find the best way to divide this is as follows:

1-start-1:36
2-1:36-3:09
3-3:09-end

But thats just a suggestion

My team is: Smokindog and the International Bluezers.
Paul Boone: start -1:06
smokindog: 1:06-3:09
etm:--------3:09-end -Finished

Paul is my brother-out-law. He grew up with Hair metal and is big on southern rock (he actually knows a lot of those guys) 8)
He plays in his church worship band, and is helping to raise a new batch of guitar pickers  Paul also is very knowledgeable of 60's and 70's rock-N-roll

emt is new to Guitarnoise. He lives in the Philippines. This guy is a HOT guitar picker  I put him last because I really would hate to have to follow him 8) Check out his Sound Click site :D

Have Fun :D

great idea - so is it a case thast we volunteer our names here and then other people pm us if they want to be in our team. if so i volunteer.

However, i must say that this brings back memories of waiting in line to be picked for a side when playing football at primary school - i was always picked last. i must warn everybody, i might cry

Me too...With me it was softball  Best to just start your own jam and invite 2 people to join in with you. You can look through previous jams over the last few years to see who has done this before. Its a good way to get people participating again.

Nice idea.
I am interested to round up a team for this Jimmy Page tribute.
Just listened to "Since I've been loving you" and it gives ideas of overlapping distorted guitars.
One rythm guitar playing arpeggios and pure chords and a lead guitar screaming "above".
And the backing track is missing a bass guitar so its possible for a bass player to add something.
Just high pass filter down the "bass organ" in the backing track and add a bass guitar line in suitable places.

wow!!!! This is it.. im excited on this one... Thanks smokindog for a very nice introduction and invitation... by the way, in the Philippines, I'm one of the players who are pushing to promote Guitar Instrumental Players in the market.. Since we had found out that Guitar Instrumentalists are not well appreciated in our country.

I have always been under the impression that instrumentalists were popular in the Philippines. We have had a few of you guys on the boards here in the last few years :D There is such a wide range of instrumental musical style in the world to chose from, I would think every one could agree on something they like :D

I'll work out and record my part tonight after my wife goes to work. I pretty much know what I'm going to play I think

If you'll have me, I'll join your team almann. I haven't even heard the backing track (can't access box.net at work), but if it's anything like the song referenced (which I'm listening to right now on my MP3 player), I'm in like Flynn! 8)

So, does each team mix their own or do we send our finished parts to you dog? Either way is fine with me, just curious.

Same here.

What do you say to:

1-start-1:36 - Almann (Done)
2-1:36-3:09 - Dogbite (Done)
3-3:09-end - Celt (Done)

I take care of putting it together.

Give the nod and I'll PM my e-mail address.

Hey Jason & Kalle, I'll form a team with you guys if you're interested. I can do the mixing as well. You can pick your slots too & I'll take what's left.

Count me in if anyone'll have me - would have been nice to jam with Almann, we could have done a "Lancashire Hotpot" Jam....but yeah, it's about time I got back into the real/virtual world of jamming online.

Me - please - pick me - someone - anyone? PLEASE? pretty please?
