I'll take the last slot on team 2 with rparker and Joe, if that's okay.

No need to tweak the ending; I'll figure something out.

Sweet! I didn't get an email notification and decided to check back just in case someone said yes. I'm very pleased. We do need one more. Anyone's welcome of course. Doesn't have to be noob at lead playing or anything like that.

Alrighty then, Gabba Gabba Hey takes the 4th slot. Joe, which one do you want?

dogbite, I've got an embarrassingly noob type question. What key is this in?

all right. two teams. I will sort out the slots soon.

key of backing track....well, it doesn't sit on one key it moves up the fret board a few times.
I believe it starts in Bflat. I need to check.
this may be a jam where you think modally. a Bflat penta scale won't work.
correct me, pros, if I am wrong.

Sounds good to me. I'll take whatever anyone doesn't want. No matter to me.

I was wondering if one scale would do it or not. I am guessing based on the Bb being first, Bb - C# - E - G. I wonder how far off I will be. :)

I did the breakdown more or less. I think the changes are as follows (someone correct me if I'm wrong)...B flat, C flat, E and G. Major scales seem to work good . For tone think King Crimson or Frank Zappa. I turned the tone down added some digital reverb and lots of overdrive

Bb, Db, E and G. Scale pattern moves three frets higher with each change, so the G resolves back to Bb for the start of the next section.

Bbm seems to work nicely as a rhythm chord, then Dbm7, Em (or Em7 - not too sure yet, I haven't finished messing round with chords) then Gm7 seems to work nicely for the last section. But like I said, I haven't got it QUITE sussed out yet....

dogbite, you're not going to play a section anywhere?

I'll take slot 1 I guess if no one opposes.

One question though, why is this in Bb and not A#? Just a theory question, does it have to do with the overall key?

I'll grab slot 2 for team 2.

Did we ever determine if the progression was Bb - Db - E - G or Bb - Cb - E - G?

Bb (or A#, if you like!) then Db (or C#) the E then G. Don't mix sharps and flats! Like I said before (although I've sussed it out a bit better now) the following chords work well for rhythm...

Bbm, Dbm7, E, Gm7.
